Industrial Soundproofing of a Noisy Press at Miba Steeltec

Project Overview

Miba Steeltec, a company specialising in advanced metal solutions, approached DECIBEL to reduce the excessive noise generated by a high-powered press in their production hall.

The goal was to lower the sound pressure level to improve working conditions and ensure compliance with workplace noise regulations.

Challenge

The primary challenge involved designing an effective soundproofing system that accommodated the specific structure of the press while adapting to the spatial constraints of the production hall, particularly the existing HVAC system.

Precision was required to ensure seamless integration without obstructing operational efficiency or ventilation.

Scope of Work

• On-site adjustment of the enclosure to fit around the press and HVAC system

Solution

DECIBEL engineered a tailored soundproofing enclosure built from PZP industrial acoustic panels, designed to absorb and isolate the noise generated by the machine effectively.

During the planning phase, the team addressed complex structural details and height limitations to ensure a precise fit around the machinery and under the air conditioning ducts. All elements were prefabricated, transported, and assembled efficiently on-site, providing a smooth installation process.

Result

The final installation successfully reduced the press noise to acceptable levels, significantly improving acoustic comfort in the workplace.
