Machine soundproofing system for AJ Metal

Project Overview

DECIBEL, in collaboration with local partner POTICHU, implemented an industrial soundproofing project for AJ Metal Design, a.s., in Trnava, Slovakia. The task was to reduce the noise produced by a high-volume production machine located in the company’s facility.

The goal was to design and install a soundproofing system that would isolate the machine acoustically while allowing for proper material flow and ventilation.

Reducing Noise in Industrial Environments

Loud machines in production facilities can create harmful working conditions and violate occupational noise limits. Effective soundproofing not only improves employee comfort but also ensures compliance with workplace noise regulations.

Challenge

The challenge was to isolate a noisy production machine while maintaining full operational functionality, including material transfer and airflow. The soundproofing solution had to include access doors, ventilation, and openings for the production process, without reducing the performance of the noise control.

Scope of Work

• Preparation of a preliminary price quote based on client input
• Site inspection and measurement at the machine location
• Acoustic design of a custom soundproofing enclosure
• Fabrication of panels and components
• On-site construction and installation of the full system
• Installation of soundproof doors, ventilation openings, and sound absorbers

Solution

DECIBEL developed and installed a custom-built soundproofing cell around the machine. The system included:

• Soundproof walls and roof structure, assembled in under 5 working days
• A ventilated noise absorber is installed on top of the enclosure
• Multiple openings for material transfer to ensure the process was uninterrupted
• Industrial-grade soundproof doors for maintenance access

The design allowed the machine to operate safely while significantly reducing the spread of noise to the surrounding work area.

Result

The soundproofing enclosure successfully reduced the machine noise, creating a quieter and safer environment for workers. The client was satisfied with the quick execution and functionality of the solution.
