Textile Acoustic Panels Upgrade at Focus Radio

Project Overview
A well-known radio studio partnered with DECIBEL to upgrade the sound quality and visual appeal of their broadcasting rooms. The goal was to improve speech clarity during live shows and recordings, while also enhancing the studio’s interior design.
In just two weeks, DECIBEL delivered a complete acoustic treatment using textile and eco-felt panels, setting a new standard for professional radio environments.

Why Acoustic Treatment Matters
In radio studios, sound is everything. Echo and reverb can distort voices, distract listeners, and affect the overall quality of the broadcast. For speech-heavy formats like news or interviews, acoustic clarity is critical.
Acoustic panels are the best way to reduce reflections and improve voice definition. They help create a clean, controlled sound environment, essential for professional audio work.
Challenge
The main challenge was to reduce echo and reverberation in a space designed for both live broadcasting and voice recording. At the same time, the acoustic treatment had to match the studio’s visual identity and be easy to maintain.
Some surfaces couldn’t support standard textile panels, so the solution had to adapt to structural limitations without sacrificing performance or aesthetics.
Scope of Work
- On-site acoustic consultation
- Coordination with client and design team
- Custom layout using textile panels in varying thicknesses
- 3D visual effect using color and depth variation
- Integration of red and grey for brand alignment and durability
- Installation of eco-felt panels in challenging areas
- Project completed in 2 weeks
Solution
DECIBEL designed a balanced acoustic system using sound-absorbing panels in multiple thicknesses to target different frequencies. Textile panels added depth and elegance, while acoustic felt provided effective treatment for harder-to-reach spots.
The red and grey color scheme was chosen for both brand consistency and easy maintenance, creating a space that looks sharp and sounds even better.
Result
The studio was transformed into a space with clear, crisp sound and no unwanted echo. Broadcasters immediately noticed the difference in speech clarity. The design team appreciated how well the panels fit the visual concept.
Encouraged by the results, the client plans to apply the same acoustic improvements across multiple studio locations, a strong endorsement of DECIBEL’s efficiency and expertise.
